To answer your question yes. Last year in White Rock Creek, a school shad came into the pool where a bunch of Sandy's were laid up in. About a 1000 shad came up over the rapid into the pool. As soon as they got in there, interrupted into a boil about 20 feet long 6 feet wide. The bait fish were jumping out of the water onto the banks to get away from the Sandbass. Every once in a while, we will see stripers do the same thing in Rowlett Creek during the spring spawn. But, the closest thing I've seen to a boil was last year in the creek. Looked just like being on the main lake but 4 feet from me.

That's some great info. Thanks for taking the time to share it.

Need to change the link to an airport near you. I provided you with the start up menu at the link below. Find nearest airport to you as this is a aviation forcast site.

http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi

Or click here ----> Click to start

After that u will see this. Your forecast. And it's usually right dead on. Otherwise planes might fall out of the sky.

Then, to get air pressure readings, click where it says "Latest Weather Conditions for "Mckinney". On you screen, it will say YOUR city. That link will take u to the air pressure reading page.

On some of the East TX lakes if it is anywhere in the 30.10 range and above it is usually tough unless you have a front coming in, which it is getting ready to change. I watch this daily by my phone and when it is in the 29.80 to 29.90 here we catch them. So it may be different where ever you fish. I know if it starts to move in any direction we still catch them but if it stops above 30 seems to get tough for us. Back in the 90's I had a tank with 20 bass in it and watch the pressure and how the fish acted. When above 30 they suspended and below 30 they moved around and sometimes related to the bottom. In lakes on really high pressure days I go way shallow to find them close to cover or under matted weed beds. Tarpon Fly does have some interesting info. Good Job.

Great explanation.Ive also noticed the shallow water barametric pressure lip lock syndrome. To day while fishing for rainbow trout we were on several groups of fish that turned on and off like a light switch.
I started to log info awhile back I'm gona cross reference with the pressure for the days I've logged fishing in 2014 so far and see what kind of a percentage I come up with.
That's a great link also for the aviation website.

tarpon fly, do you also use the Solunar time table (major time/minor times) or only use the air pressure when finding out if it is good to go out and fish.

Not really. The come up the creeks when they feel like it. They eat when they feel like it. I just watch the air pressure.
